Terroir:
At the foot of the Three Castles, the Grand Cru Eichberg — meaning “oak hill” in French — is located on a south-east slope, between 220 and 340 meters above sea level. Its soil, composed of fairly clayey limestone conglomerates and rich in gravel, allows us to produce an exceptional Riesling.
Appearance: Golden with silver highlights, bright and clear.
Nose: Very expressive, with a marked mineral backbone and a complex aromatic palette combining ripe peach, juicy pear and quince.
Palate: Broad and structured, fully expressing the character of the terroir: a taut, almost saline minerality supports precise stone fruit aromas. Citrus freshness refines the whole and stretches the finish.
Finish: Long, pure and vibrant, revealing all the energy of this great limestone terroir.
Ideal to enjoy in its youth for its fruit and freshness. Can age up to 8 years in the cellar.
Serve chilled, between 8 and 10°C
This Riesling Grand Cru Eichberg charms with its crystalline freshness and precise minerality. It pairs beautifully with fine fish like pan-seared sole or turbot, especially with light sauces featuring citrus or fresh herbs. It’s also a natural match for delicate shellfish – lobster, langoustines or lightly seared scallops. Its vibrant acidity balances rich textures and enhances briny flavours, for a pairing that’s both refined and full of character.
